NASK (Nord-Amerika Somera Kursaro) is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself completely in an Esperanto environment. Enrique Haro Marquez
Enrique (Mexico) first started learning Esperanto in 2017, as a New Year’s resolution with his father, and since then the language has become a regular feature in their home. He is interested in translation and sometimes spends his time translating games or short stories. He became a board member of Esperanto-USA in 2023 for a three-year term. He has been teaching online at the London Esperanto Club for a year now. He has attended NASK before, three times as a student and twice as a teacher-in-training. This year he will be teaching for the first time.
Enriko (Meksiko) unue eklernis Esperanton en 2017, kiel novjarajn rezolucion kun sia patro, kaj de tiam la lingvo iĝis kutima aŭditaĵo ĉe ilia hejmo. Lin interesas tradukado kaj foje pasigas la tempon tradukante ludojn aŭ verkaĵetojn. Li iĝis estrarano de Esperanto-USA en 2023 por tri-jara periodo. De antaǔ unu jaro li instruas rete ĉe la Londona Esperanto-Klubo. Li ĉeestis NASK-on antaŭe, trifoje kiel studento kaj dufoje kiel trejninstruisto. Ĉi-jare li instruos la unuan fojon.
Post Beginner Course: “Let’s Learn Together!”
Do you like Esperanto but don’t feel completely ready just yet? Maybe you did the Duolingo or Lernu courses but didn’t quite understand everything? This course is for you. It’s for people who know the basic rules and can semi-understand or make out phrases but don’t feel ready just yet to have more complex conversations. If you have doubts or aren’t sure about the basic aspects of the language, don’t worry, we’ll cover those too to make sure everyone start out on the same level. The course will be completely in Esperanto, but I’ll encourage and help you speak as much Esperanto as possible. Together we’ll speak, learn, and have fun!
Post-baza Kurso: “Ni lernu kune!”
Ĉu vi ŝatas Esperanton sed ne sentas vin tute komforta? Eble vi faris la kurson de Duolingo aŭ Lernu sed ne tuton komprenis? Ĉi tiu kurso estas por vi. Ĝi estas por homoj, kiuj konas la bazajn regulojn kaj povas duonkompreni frazojn sed ankoraŭ ne sentas sin pretaj por havi pli kompleksajn konversaciojn. Se vi havas dubojn aŭ ne certas pri la bazaj aferoj de la lingvo, ne timu, ni vidos ankaŭ tiujn por certiĝi, ke ni ĉiuj havas la saman nivelon. La kurso estos tute en Esperanto, sed mi kuraĝigos kaj helpos vin paroli la lingvon kiom eble plej multe. Kune ni parolos, lernos, kaj amuziĝos!
Rafa Nogueras
Rafa (Puerto Rico) started learning Esperanto in 2016 and since then has been active in the Esperanto community. He was a member of the team that maintained the Duolingo English-Esperanto course, lending his voice to most of the recordings; furthermore, he is one third of the trio that makes up “Usone Persone”, and since 2025 he is a member of the Academy of Esperanto. He has translated several children’s books into Esperanto, received literary awards for his wiritng, and published his first book of microfiction, “Centvorte”. This will be his seventh time teaching for NASK, and he is looking forward to getting to know more Esperantists and sharing his knowledge and passion for the language and its history.
Rafa (Portoriko) eklernis Esperanton en 2016 kaj de tiam estas aktiva en la movado. Li estis membro de la teamo kiu prizorgis la Esperanto-kurson en Duolingo, kaj mem faris la plejparton de la registraĵoj; krome, li estas triono de la triopo de “Usone Persone”, kaj de 2025 li estas membro de la Akademio de Esperanto. Li tradukis kelkajn infanlibrojn en Esperanton, ricevis kelkajn literaturajn premiojn pro siaj verkoj, kaj li ĵus eldonis sian unuan kolekton de mikronoveloj, “Centvorte”. Jen la sepa fojo, ke li instruos kadre de NASK, kaj li antaŭĝojas renkonti pli da Esperantistoj kaj dividi kun ili siajn scion kaj pasion pri la lingvo kaj ties historio.
Intermediate Course: “Improve your Esperanto while having fun!”
If you already know the basic rules of Esperanto and are able to understand the language, but you want to improve your speaking skills, here’s the course for you! During Rafa Nogueras’s course you’ll not only deepen your knowledge about the grammar of Esperanto, but you’ll also have the chance to use it and have fun while you do so! He’ll teach tricky parts of the language, introduce you to interesting aspects of Esperanto culture and come up with activities so that you can use the language in a fun and friendly environment.
Meznivela Kurso: “Plibonigu vian Esperanton kaj amuziĝu!”
Se vi jam konas la bazajn regulojn de Esperanto kaj povas kompreni la lingvon, sed vi volas plibonigi vian parolkapablon, jen la kurso por vi! Dum la kurso de Rafa Nogueras vi ne nur pliprofundigos viajn sciojn pri la gramatiko, sed vi krome havos la okazon uzi Esperanton kaj amuziĝi per ĝi! Li instruos tiklajn aferojn pri la lingvo, konatigos vin kun interesaj flankoj de la Esperanto-kulturo, kaj elpensos aktivaĵojn por ke vi devu uzi la lingvon en amuza kaj amika etoso.
Stela Besenyei-Merger
Stela (Hungary) is a sociologist and arts educator from Budapest. She is also a native speaker, who even learned to walk at an Esperanto meeting! Over the past roughly four decades, she has never stopped being active in the movement. In her youth, she organized events in Hungary such as International Youth Week, co-organized several IJKs, and contributed to roughly a hundred different gatherings. She has been writing the blog Stela ĉiam nur kritikas since 2011 and producing various podcasts since 2017. La Bona Renkontiĝo was her first major podcast project, and she is currently active in the duo Radikala Tenero. In addition, she founded the group Bobelarto to engage literature lovers in the Esperanto community. Professionally, she works in the new publishing department of Esperanto-USA and is the biggest fan of Usone Persone.
Stela (Hungario) estas sociologo kaj artedukisto el Budapeŝto. Ankaŭ denaskulo, kiu eĉ lernis promeni dum Esperanto-renkontiĝo! En la pasintaj pli-malpli kvar jardekoj ŝi neniam ĉesis esti aktiva en la movado. Junulaĝe ŝi organizis eventojn en Hungario kiel la Internacia Junulara Semajno, kunorganizis plurajn IJK-ojn, kaj kontribuis al pli-mapli cent diversaj renkontiĝoj. Ŝi verkas la blogon Stela ĉiam nur kritikas ekde 2011 kaj produktas diversajn podkastojn ekde 2017. La Bona Renkontiĝo estis ŝia unua granda podkasto-projekto kaj nuntempe aktivas en la duopo de Radikala Tenero. Krome, ŝi fondis la grupon Bobelarto por aktivigi la literaturamantojn de Esperantujo. Ŝi profesie okupiĝas pri la nova eldona fako de Esperanto-USA kaj estas la plej granda fano de Usone Persone.
Highest Level Course: “Back to the Roots!”
We will meet at the crossroads of research and creativity! If you already speak Esperanto confidently, have no problem reading and understanding Esperanto texts, and would even enjoy exploring the history of ELNA, then this course is for you!
We will chat and create based on the space Esperanto occupies in our lives, and present to each other rediscovered gems from the Esperanto movement. In preparation for the 75th anniversary of Esperanto-USA in 2027, together we will discover much about the history of Esperanto in the United States. During the week, we will conduct interviews, collaborate on zines, and hopefully laugh a lot. We will follow your interests and explore the topics that tempt you down rabbit holes! Do you dare to open your creative side to Esperanto?
Supera Kurso: “Reen al la radikoj!”
Ni renkontiĝos ĉe la vojkruciĝo de esploro kaj kreemo! Se vi jam memfide parolas Esperanton, ne estas problemo por vi legi kaj kompreni Esperantajn tesktojn, kaj eĉ volonte esplorus la historion de ELNA, tiam tiu ĉi kurso estas por vi!
Ni babilados kaj kreos laŭ la spaco kiun Esperanto okupas en niaj vivoj, kaj prezentos unu al la alia retrovitajn gemojn de la Esperanto-movado. Prepariĝante por la 75-jariĝo de Esperanto-USA en 2027, kune ni malkovros multe pri la historio de Esperanto en Usono. Dum la semajno ni faros intervjuojn, kunlaboros pri zinoj (zine en la angla), kaj espereble ridos multe. Ni sekvos viajn interesojn kaj esploros la temojn kiuj emigas vin eniri sakstratojn!
